Haven’t you always wondered:
“How many marshmellows can you fit into your mouth"
"How to hug trees and watch dung beetles play”
“How to tell secrets to elephants”
“How to do magic tricks at the fire side”
“How to understand the animals of the bush and the clues that they leave behind”
“How to brush your teeth with the branch of a tree”?
Come and join us for a Bushschool adventure. Learn to use all of your senses: listen to the sounds of the wilderness, observe everything around you, smell the aroma of broken leaves, feel the texture of flower petals, taste adventure in the air and don’t ignore your intuitive sixth sense. Make friends with the creatures that we share the planet with and learn to read the clues they leave behind for us. Listen to the quiet and take time to close your eyes and dream.
The Future Nature Bushschool philosophy is to build a love and enthusiasm for the world in which we live and to promote a concern and caring for people of different cultures and the natural world. Young people will be given the opportunity in a safe and exciting environment, to learn from experience and through experimenting and developing their own ideas. The wide open spaces of South Africa create a safe space and plenty of opportunity for adventure and self exploration.
Children find that the Future Nature Bushschools are an adventure in discovery of mammals and birds, plants and trees and people around them. Young people are given the opportunity to set out on a journey of discovery of their inner selves. Every step along the way they are guided by specialist educators, who encourage each child to use their own initiative, to think independently and to develop their communication skills. The Bushschool Programme is designed to help unlock each young person’s own unique abilities, to think creatively, and from careful observation, to gain an understanding of all living species, including man’s role in the wilderness.
